Memorandum of Understanding
We are pleased to announce that SRMEG and the Engineering Alumni Singapore (EAS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 5 March 2010 for collaboration and reciprocity. With this MOU, SRMEG and EAS now recognise each other as a partner, and will provide benefits to their members on a reciprocal basis.

ICADD-10 Announcement
Dear Colleagues,
Attached please find the announcement of ICADD-10 (The 10th International Conference on Analysis of Discontinuous Deformation). It will take place in Waikiki Hawaii, on 6-8 December 2011. The conference is co-chaired by Professor Jian Zhao of EPFL Switzerland and Professor Yuzo Ohnishi of Kyoto University Japan. ICADD-10 is the 10th meeting of the ICADD series and it is a special event to review the past development and to advance to the future progress in discontinuous modelling methods. ACUUS 2012 Singapore
SRMEG has won the bid to host the 13th International Conference of the Associated Research Centers for Urban Underground Space (ACUUS). This conference will provide a major opportunity for Singapore to learn from others who have gone ahead and to share with them our experience in the use of underground space as part of sustainable development. This conference is now especially timely with the recent recommendation by the Economic Strategies Committee to "catalyse the development of underground space as a means to intensify land use." International NATM Workshop
The
Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering Geology and the
Austrian Geomechanics Society will jointly organise an international
NATM workshop on 11-12 Nov 2010. The main theme of the workshop
is Tunnelling in difficult geological conditions. The workshop
aims to bring together a panel of international experts to
discuss the fundamentals of NATM and how it is used in practice
to address difficult geological conditions in tunnelling.
The workshop will cover the theoretical background of NATM,
design methods and standards, excavation and support strategies,
instrumentation, monitoring and data interpretation, contractual
practice and risk management, and case studies. More details
are coming soon....
